The Chaos battle runs 3 times per day. To sign up to the Chaos event, you must acquire a Map of Chaos from [White Shadow Captain]Sirin. One map is provided per day for free - if you want more, you must exchange the Map of Chaos Exchange Coupon from PUS. Signing up is done in an UI similar to that used for Border Defense War.
Instances are formed with 6~18 players each. You will appear as a Guardian Deity of your own nation while everyone else will appear as a Guardian Deity of the oppisong nation (even if they are the same nation as you). The event lasts for 20 minutes, the first of which is spent with invulnerability.
Once the fight starts, you will get only 3 seconds of invlulnerability after respawning. Whenever you respawn, you are taken to one of several respawn points randomly.
This is a free for all battle. Everyone is your enemy and you can't form parties. You can't tell players from each other. However, kills are announced in the chat window and names will appear normally there. Your own kills are displayed in purple.
Everyone uses a special character in this battle. The level, items, stats etc. of the character you sign up with are disregarded. The "stock" character is an El Morad/Karus Guardian similar to the one seen on the Chaos Expansion promotion.
The Guardian Deity has a maximum HP of 10,000. It can't sit down and does constant 500 damage with its R-attack. It has limited pool of skills to use (see this list for their table data).
Guardian Deity's skills in a nutshell:
Spirit Sword: melee attack, 1000 damage.
Ice Counter: melee attack, 1000 damage and slowdown.
Poison Knife: reduces enemy HP by 20% of its current value.
Fire Sword: ranged attack, 3000 damage.
Ice Sword: ranged attack, 3000 damage (DOT).
Stern Lightning: AOE spell, 2000 damage and a chance to stun.
Sprint: similar to rogue/warrior sprint but lasts longer.
Stealth: similar to rogue stealth.
Angelic Tears: 1000 HP recovery. You can't use this fast enough to "outpot" your damage.
Rock Throw: 10 damage. I don't see the point.
The skills don't use mana.
In addition there are Chaos Cubes spawning in the zone. Walk next to a cube to absorb its contents. This will give you a skill item that you can use. Which item you get is determined by your position on the leader board. If you are in the first quarter, you get Light Feet. In the second quarter, you get Drain Restore. And if you are in the second half, you get Killing Blade.
Light Feet: similar to rogue's light feet.
Drain Restore: 10,000 HP recovery over 20 seconds.
Killing Blade: 1-hit kill, with very low (if any) chance to fail.
You lose your Chaos Cube items upon death!
There are saw blades in the dungeon. They do 5000 (that's a half bar) damage if they hit you. Ouch.
Players are ranked based on kill count. If that's the same, they are decided on death count. If that's the same too, it's a tie.
Rewards are once again determined by ranking.
The top 20% gets a Blue Treasure Chest, plus the Gand Prize, the Voucher of Oracle!
The next 20% gets a Green Treasure Chest.
The next 40% gets a Red Treasure Chest.
And the final 20% leave with nothing.
It hasn't been confirmed how these percentages work. Most probably, the server takes the number of people, multiplies it by 0.2, 0.4, and 0.8 and whoever is less than or equal to the resulting number gets the higher category. With 18 players, the "borders" would be 3.6, 7.2 and 14.4, which means the first 3 places get Grand Prize, places 4 to 7 get 2nd prize, places 8 to 14 get 3rd prize and places 15 to 18 get nothing.
However that's not everything. You get EXP based on your kill count (premiums get double EXP). And everyone gets a Voucher of Chaos. If you want to get some wings, 5 of this item are equivalent to 1 Voucher of Oracle. However, there are also 4 different quests given you by Menissiah. You need 33 Voucher of Chaos if you want to turn them all in. (They can be turned in at levels 20, 40, 60 and 70, respectively.) You'll be rewarded with an Old Accessory and an Exceptional weapon for the two upper quests.
The EXP formula is Level^3*0.15*(5*Kill-Death).
You can turn in your certificates at the [White Shadow Captain] NPC. In addition to the vouchers, you must make an additional provision either with Noah (the amount depends on your level) or the Ancient Text. When paying Noah, you have a random chance of getting the lower- or higher-grade wings. With the Ancient Text, you always get high-grade ones. The wings last for 1 day and can have randomly an EXP, Noah, NP, Defense or Attack option, in addition all of them have a Carry Weight option.
